  • 2 x Wick Holders
  • 2 x Wooden Pegs
  • 1 x Bamboo Stick
  • 1 x Wax Pouring Jug - 1 litre
  • 1 x Thermometer

Instructions

Step 1 - Set up the Glassware

Make sure two of your jars are completely clean and dry in preparation for candle making. Any residues of wax or water can affect the end product result. To set up your glassware, place a round wick stickum on the end of the wick pressing it down firmly to secure the wick in the centre on the inside bottom of the glass.

Next, centre the top of the wick using the wick holder and pull gently to straighten the wick, securing it in place with the wooden peg.

Step 2 - Melt the Wax

Place one block of wax in the pouring jug provided, this is enough to fill two jars. Using a microwave, melt at 30 second intervals until wax reaches a temperature of approximately 75°C. (thermometer provided.)

Step 3 - Add Fragrance

Choose one of the fragrance oils (30ml for two jars), pour it into the molten wax and stir thoroughly using the bamboo stick.

Step 4 - Pour the Candles

Once well mixed, slowly pour the combined wax and fragrance into the medium Oxford glasses you prepared earlier.

Be sure to leave approximately 1cm from the top of the glass rim.

Step 5 - Trim the Wick

Once completely set, remove the wick holder and peg, and then trim the wick to approximately 1cm above the wax.

Allow the candles to set for a minimum of 3 days to 2 weeks before burning.

Step 6 - Enjoy

Congratulations! Your first home made soy candles are now ready to burn!
