Colour FAQs

How long will a diffuser last?

There are many factors that determine how long reed diffuser oils last, including air conditioning, humidity, heating, draughts, direct sunlight, open and closed doors and the width and length of the reeds. Please conduct your own testing.

How often should I flip the reeds?

The reed diffuser sticks can be flipped when you want an extra burst of fragrance or when you notice there is no scent. Some people choose to flip daily while others choose weekly. Be careful not to drip any as it can react with some surfaces. Be sure to clean any spillage immediately.

Safety recommendations for diffusers

Do not ingest oils. Use caution when filling your bottles with oil or flipping your reeds as oils can damage some surfaces. Do not light reeds. Be careful not to tip over the diffuser. Keep out of reach from children and pets.

Are reed diffusers environmentally friendly?

All reed diffusers are environmentally friendly, long-lasting, and slow releasing. They are a safe way to scent a room with no open flame or hot wax. They can be classed as vegan friendly as they are mostly made up of synthetic ingredients and are not tested on animals. Our diffuser base does not contain phthalates or parabens.

Are our oils safe to use in a diffuser base?

Our candle fragrance oils are safe to use in our diffuser base.

Can I re-use my reed diffuser reeds?

We do not recommend the re-use of reed diffuser sticks, especially when you switch to a new fragrance and if the reeds become clogged with dust. If you have no scent after turning your sticks, they may be clogged and so you will need to replace the sticks to have the scent going again.

Can the reed diffuser oil be coloured?

We do not recommend colouring the diffuser base as it can clog the reed diffuser sticks and cause them to discolour.

The diffuser has become cloudy

Some fragrances may cause the diffuser base to turn cloudy. This is sometimes caused by the natural materials in the fragrance oil. One method that may work is to refrigerate a finished diffuser and, once chilled, pass-through coffee filter paper to remove any sediment. Due to the natural components of the fragrance oils, we do not refund or replace the diffuser base and so it is recommended to test a small amount first before going into production.
