What are wax melts?
Wax melts and tarts are fragranced soy wax cubes or shapes which can be melted in an oil burner by a tealight to fragrance your home or any indoor environment.

I see you sell moulds to make wax melts. How much wax and fragrance does each clamshell mould need?
Ideally you should not fill your clamshell mould all the way to the top, but rather fill to 5mm from the top. This equates to an approximate total of 74 grams of wax and fragrance. We recommend 6 grams of fragrance per clamshell mould so that each individual melt when snapped off has 1 gram of fragrance.
This sounds complicated. Is there an easy way to do it?
One simple production method would be to pour 5 clamshell moulds at once. Melt 340 grams of wax, being 68 grams for each clamshell mould. Add 30 grams of fragrance, being 6 grams per clamshell mould. Then pour each clamshell so they each have approx. 74 grams total in them. You could even use our digital scale initially for this until you get your pouring heights correct.
Can I remove my melts from the clamshell mould and re-use the mould to pour more melts again?
Yes, you can use your clamshell moulds over and over. Essentially you are using them like a mould, or of course you can close them up with your finished melts inside them and use the clamshell mould as finished packaging.
What wax is best for melts?
The most popular wax for melts is the Tart Wax. This wax is harder than normal container waxes and so shrinks away from the mould for easier removal.
Can I use your oils in an oil burner?
Our recommendation would be to make soy wax melts for oil burners. Fragrance oils are in concentrated form and so need to be diluted for use. Wax melts are a great way to do this.
How do I clean the top of the burner?
If the wax is not easily coming away from the oil burner bowl, place in the fridge for a little while. The wax should shrink back from the bowl, allowing the wax to be released. Give the bowl a wipe with a paper towel. It is then ready again for use.
